Meanwhile, ahead of the 77th Republic Day celebrations, in view of multiple terror threat inputs received from intelligence agencies, Delhi Police has put in place an extensive, technology-based security mechanism in the line of duty and across the entire New Delhi district. This year, the seating areas for the Republic Day celebrations have been named after Indian rivers. Keeping in mind the convenience and safety of the guests, several important changes have also been made in the way security deployment is done. Furthermore, the police have appealed to all invited guests and ticket holders to read the information given on their invitation cards carefully and follow the prescribed routes only.
