6 killed in bus-car collision, rear part of car shattered

Hathras: In the early hours of Tuesday, a double-decker bus hit a moving Eeco van from behind on the Yamuna Expressway in Hathras, UP. In the accident, 6 people including husband and wife died, 7 people were injured. All the deceased were residents of Dholpur, Rajasthan. Were going home for Holi.

The bus was going from Delhi to Gorakhpur, while the van was going from Delhi to Dholpur. The collision occurred while attempting to overtake. The collision was so severe that the van jumped and fell 10 feet away. Its rear part was shattered. It was fortunate that the passengers on the bus were not injured.

There was screaming after the accident. Dead bodies were scattered on the road. There was a jam on the expressway. Police officers arrived as soon as the information was received. The injured were immediately sent to Khandauli CHC. From where three were referred to Agra. The accident happened in Sadabad Kotwali area.

13 people were going to Rajakheda in Rajasthan in an eco van. The private double-decker bus was going towards Gorakhpur at Milestone 141 of Yamuna Expressway in Hathras. An Eeco van was running in front of the bus. There were 13 people in the van.

Everyone was going to their respective homes in Rajkheda (Dholpur) of Rajasthan for the festival of Holi. At 4.15 am, the speeding bus tried to overtake the van and went out of control and hit the van from behind.

Of the 6 deceased in the accident, 4 were identified as Dinesh (50), his wife Sunita (48), Vijay Baghel (27), his wife Pinky Baghel (26). Two have not been identified yet. All are said to be from Gangoli, Rajkheda (Rajasthan).

Four children were also among the injured. Echo driver Virendra son of Ramprakash is also injured in the accident. Apart from this, Manoj, son of Suresh, Aryan (8)-Anshu (6), son of Ajay, deceased Vijay’s son Lakshya (1), daughter Prachi (3) and his sister-in-law Poonam Baghel (15) of Rajakheda are injured.

Deceased’s brother Sanju told – his brother Dinesh used to run a sweet shop in Sector 41 of Noida. He was coming from Noida with his wife Sunita to his villages Gangoliapura, Rajkheda, Dholpur to celebrate the festival. His two daughters and son are injured.

The bus driver is being interrogated The injured have been admitted to hospitals in Khandauli police station area, where they are undergoing treatment. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to the district hospital for postmortem. Police say that in the initial investigation the accident occurred due to high speed and careless overtaking. The bus driver is being interrogated.
