Mumbai: Bollywood king Shahrukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan are celebrating their 34th wedding anniversary today. This couple is not only one of the most beautiful couples of Bollywood, but their love story looks no less than a film. This relationship, which started from the streets of Delhi, crossed social restrictions, family opposition and religious differences and finally reached the point of marriage. In the year 1984, a party was going on in Panchsheel Club, Delhi. For the first time, 19 year old Shahrukh’s eyes fell on 14 year old Gauri. Gauri was dancing with another friend at that time, and Shahrukh was just watching her. In that very moment he realized that he had found the ‘queen of his heart’.
But Shahrukh’s shyness came in the way. He did not talk, but decided in his heart that now he has to meet Gauri. After that Shahrukh started attending every party where Gauri was likely to attend. By the third meeting, he gathered courage and got Gauri’s home phone number.

In those days there was neither mobile nor WhatsApp. Shahrukh came up with a unique method – he would get his friend to call Gauri’s house and call her under the name ‘Shaheen’. This was his codeword. As soon as someone at home picked up the phone and heard ‘Shaheen’, Gauri would understand that the phone was Shahrukh’s. In those conversations that lasted for hours, their relationship deepened. Gradually the meetings increased and then the story of long drives began.
When Shahrukh said- ‘I will marry you’
After several meetings, one day Shahrukh dropped Gauri at her home. While getting down from the car, he said without any preamble, “I will marry you.” Gauri was shocked, but Shahrukh left from there without listening to the answer. That moment became the most beautiful turning point of their love story.
Possessive Shahrukh, worried Gauri
Shahrukh’s love was so deep that he used to get restless even seeing Gauri’s hair open. He was afraid that someone else might see his girlfriend. This possessiveness started troubling Gauri. One day she went from Delhi to Mumbai without telling him. When Shahrukh came to know about this, he searched the streets of the entire city. After searching for several days, they finally found Gauri at Aksa Beach. Gauri cried seeing him, and it was decided here – now this relationship will never break.

The difference of religion became the biggest obstacle. Gauri’s family did not approve of this relationship, but Shahrukh did not give up. For months he tried to convince Gauri’s parents. Ultimately, their love wins. First, both of them got married, in which Gauri was named ‘Ayesha’. After this, both of them got married according to Hindu customs on 25 October 1991.
