Just a day after its release, an emotional video went viral on social media, in which a Muslim woman meets Yami Gautam after watching the film and tears start flowing from her eyes.
Muslim woman’s video is going viral
In this video, it can be seen that Yami and Imran had reached a special screening show of the film, so that they could see the reaction of the audience. After the show was over, a woman came straight to Yami and said emotionally – ‘After watching the film, I felt that this is our right, which we should get.’ Saying this, she held Yami’s hand and kissed it and said – ‘I got courage from you, now I feel that I too can fight for my rights.’
‘Haq’- Woman’s fight, truth of society
The story of the film ‘Haq’ is about an ordinary Muslim woman Shazia (Yami Gautam Dhar), who knocks the door of the court for her rights after divorce from her husband Abbas Khan (Emraan Hashmi). The story’s roots are inspired by the famous Shah Bano case of 1985, which sparked a new debate on women’s rights in the Indian justice system and society.
Raised voice for women’s rights
Through this film, director Suparn Verma and writer Reshu Nath have raised the voice of the woman who is often kept silent by the society. The film shows that when a person fights for his self-respect, he wins not by any religion or society, but by himself. The simplicity and strength with which Yami has portrayed the character of an illiterate but confident woman has won the hearts of audiences of all sections.
Flood of emotions rising after watching the film
The film ‘Haq’ is not just a courtroom drama, but is like a mirror of the society in which a woman’s pain, respect and desire for justice are clearly visible. The same truth is reflected in Yami’s acting which reaches the heart through her eyes. At the same time, Emraan Hashmi has brought to life the character of a lawyer who both hides his eyes from the truth and also bows down before it in the end. On the first day, ‘Haq’ earned around Rs 1.65 crore at the box office and now it is expected that this figure will increase manifold by the weekend.
