The company said that many industry partners have also joined this mission so that America gets the ‘best technological edge’ on every front.
This is the same weapon which is considered to be the most dangerous and decisive part of the Golden Dome Project. A system that will destroy enemy missiles from space within seconds of launch. This project was started during the Donald Trump administration, whose goal is to provide America with impenetrable missile defense shield – from earth to space.
According to US defense strategists, ballistic missiles and hypersonic weapons – which use rocket boosters – are most vulnerable in their initial ‘boost phase’, that is, just after launch. If this Lockheed Martin project succeeds, then there will be no need for air defense like S-400 and Iron Dome. According to the information made public so far, the centerpiece of the Golden Dome project will be the enemy. The missile is to be destroyed far away from the US borders so that any threat can be eliminated before it comes close to the country’s territory. However, the Golden Dome plan is not limited to interception only in the boost phase. The system will also be able to track and destroy long-range missiles like intercontinental ballistic missiles in the mid-course phase (when the missile is in space outside the Earth’s atmosphere).
