At what time can you use the middle berth?
According to the rules of Indian Railways, the middle berth in any reserved coach can be used from 10 pm to 6 am. This time has been fixed by the Railways for sleeping in this. In such a situation, middle berth passengers can sleep with their seats open from 10 pm to 6 am. According to the rules, no one can prevent the middle berth passenger from sleeping on the seat after 10 pm. 10 to 6 is considered the official sleeping time and all travelers have to follow this rule.

Middle berth cannot be opened during the day
According to railway rules, use of middle berth is prohibited during the day. It is mandatory to keep the middle berth closed from 6 am to 10 pm. The middle berth cannot be used for sitting or sleeping during day time. This is done so that lower berth passengers can get space to sit. If a passenger uses the middle berth before 10 pm, the lower berth passenger has the right to stop him. He can also complain about this to TT.

Other important rules of railways
There are many other rules of Railways which are mandatory for the passengers to follow. Smoking and drinking alcohol is prohibited in the train while traveling under the Railways. If caught doing this, strict action may be taken against the passenger. Apart from this, fighting, talking loudly or playing music is also prohibited in the train. According to railway rules, tickets of TT passengers cannot be checked from 10 pm to 6 am so that the passengers can sleep comfortably. However, this rule does not apply to passengers boarding the train after 10 pm.
