Saudi Arabia Bus Accident A tragic incident unfolded on Monday morning in which at least 42 Indian Umrah pilgrims died. These travelers had come to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah and many women and children were also included in them. Most of the dead are said to be residents of Hyderabad and Telangana.
According to the information, the bus going from Mecca to Medina suddenly collided with a diesel tanker. The collision was so severe that the bus immediately caught fire. Most of the passengers were sleeping at the time of the accident, due to which they did not get a chance to get out. The accident was so horrific that the bus was completely burnt to ashes and it is becoming very difficult to identify the dead bodies. At present, Saudi Civil Defense, Police and local rescue teams are engaged in relief work on the spot.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi expressed deep grief over the incident. They said that Saudi Arabia Bus Accident 42 Indian Haj pilgrims were traveling in the bus. Owaisi contacted the Indian Embassy in Riyadh to get information and demanded systematic identification of the injured and dead and bringing them to India. He met the Central Government and Foreign Minister S. Appealed to Jaishankar for special intervention.
The Indian Consulate General in Jeddah has also set up a 24×7 control room after the accident and issued an emergency helpline number 8002440003.
Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar expressed deep condolences on this tragedy. He assured that the Indian missions in Riyadh and Jeddah are providing all possible help to the victims and their families. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
