Johannesburg. Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed with Indian-origin Tech Entrepreneurs in South Africa. In this meeting, issues like new technology, cooperation in emerging areas and strengthening relations between India and NRIs were discussed.

“Had productive discussions with Indian-origin tech entrepreneurs in Johannesburg. The entrepreneurs talked about their work in fintech, social media platforms, agriculture, education, healthcare, medical devices and other sectors. Appealed to them to deepen their engagement with India and work closely with our people,” the Prime Minister wrote on X.

In the meeting, many entrepreneurs told about their conversations with the Prime Minister. A tech expert working in the agriculture sector said they discussed education, agriculture and carbon footprint. We are creating a quantum solution for agriculture. The conversation focused on how India and South Africa are driving development, ensuring food security and how technology can be leveraged in both countries. Another participant said that he informed the Prime Minister about his ongoing work in the media, technology, agriculture and education sectors.

An entrepreneur said that he got the same experience in the meeting as he had read about the Prime Minister. Many topics were discussed in depth. Another entrepreneur said that the Prime Minister discussed the tech initiatives we are working on and discussed in detail the latest trends. PM Modi’s knowledge on all these subjects is so wide and deep that he discusses every topic very intelligently.

“Our healthcare-focused digital platform connects people with health experts. It facilitates online appointments, telehealth and medicine delivery. We support most of the private sector in South Africa and neighboring countries,” said one entrepreneur. Another entrepreneur said that Prime Minister Modi asked him what he was doing for Indians and how tourism could increase. He said that UPI is the world’s largest digital payments platform and India is showing leadership in this field. The Prime Minister always talks about increasing facilities for India.

On reaching Johannesburg, Prime Minister Modi also appreciated the wonderful welcome given by the Indian community. The cultural program ‘Rhythms of a United India’ presented folk dances from 11 states of India, showcasing the cultural diversity of the Indian community settled in South Africa. On the sidelines of the G-20 leaders’ summit, Prime Minister Modi will also hold bilateral meetings with leaders of many countries.
