Big conversion racket busted in Surat before Christmas

Surat Just before Christmas, Surat District Police has exposed a big conversion scam which has created a stir in the education world and administrative system. The same government school principals and teachers, who are responsible for showing the right direction to the society, were running a network of illegal conversions by forming trusts in tribal areas. Investigation has revealed that ‘The Pray for Ever Lasting Life Charitable Trust’ was established in the year 2014. The main objective of this trust was to convert the tribal brothers and sisters to Christianity by luring or misleading them. The main architect of this scam is Ramji Dubalbhai Chaudhary, who himself works as a principal in a government school.
The surprising thing is that this trust of 11 members included 3 government education officers and 6 pastors. The most surprising role in this entire network was that of Ankit Chaudhary, son of Ramji Chaudhary, who is a BHMS doctor. Ankit was doing allopathy treatment illegally. He used to trap poor tribal patients on the pretext of free treatment. The police recovered Rs. A cache of suspicious medicines worth Rs 56,000 has been seized, in which harmful steroids and huge quantities of painkiller injections were found. He would give immediate relief to the patients with these medicines and as soon as the patient recovered, he would say, “You have got relief not from the medicine, but through the grace of Lord Jesus.” After this, the patients were sent to their father Ramji Chaudhary for the final process of conversion.
According to Surat District Police, the functioning of this network was highly organized. People attending any conversion or prayer meeting were strictly prohibited from bringing mobile phones, so that no video or audio recording could be done and the police could not get evidence. Moreover, the principal had started the trust without prior government permission in violation of government rules. Despite being active since 2014, the Trust has not been audited even once, due to which its financial transactions are under suspicion. Surat Rural Police has sought a report from the Charity Commissioner and started investigating the financial dealings of the trust. There is huge anger among tribal organizations due to this game of religious conversion going on under the guise of education.
