Thiruvalluvar. A shocking incident has come to light from Tiruvallur District of Tamil Nadu. 56-year-old Ganesan, resident of Nallathinirakulam Street in Pothatturpet of the district, died due to snake bite. Ganesan was working as a lab assistant in Government Higher Secondary School. Ganesan died of snake bite while sleeping at home on the morning of 22 October. His son informed the Pothatturpet police.
Police registered a case and were investigating. Meanwhile, the family members filed a claim regarding the insurance done in their name. This amount was Rs 3 crore. The insurance company became suspicious due to the different statements given by the family members. The company lodged a complaint with Northern Zone IG Asra Garg. On December 6, when a special team was formed to investigate the matter, the entire details of the sons’ conspiracy came to light.
Police investigation revealed that there were several expensive insurance policies in Ganesan’s name. To get them, Ganesan’s sons Mohanraj and Hariharan, along with Balaji (28 years), Prashant (35 years), Naveen Kumar (28 years) and Dinakaran (28 years), killed their father by getting bitten by a snake. There was another big reason for doubt. Just a week before Ganesan died on the morning of 22 October, he was bitten by a cobra snake. However, neighbors immediately took him to the hospital, which saved his life. A week later, he was again bitten by a snake, but this time his family delayed taking him to the hospital.
Ganesan was bitten by a snake twice and the family members were indifference towards his treatment. There was a big reason for suspicion when the police investigated the call records of both the sons and found out that the sons had arranged for a snake through their friends, after getting it bitten, they killed their father so that they could get the insurance amount of Rs 3 crore. In this case, the police have arrested 6 people including both the sons and sent them to jail.
