Bear again attacks two girl students in Chamoli, both were going to school

Chamoli: For the second consecutive day, a bear attacked two school going girl students in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. This incident happened near Government Girls Inter College, Gopeshwar at around 10 in the morning, due to which panic spread in the area. During the attack, one student showed agility and ran away from the spot to save her life, while the other student fell unconscious.

Both the injured girl students were brought to the District Hospital Gopeshwar with the help of 108 ambulance, where according to the doctors, their condition is currently stable. The most shocking thing is that the Forest Department (DFO) office is just 400 meters away from the place where the bear attacked. Despite this, the Forest Department seems to have failed so far in stopping the activities of bears in the area.

According to school teacher Lalit Mohan Bisht, student Radhika Rawat was coming to school. Then he saw the bear below the school. She ran to save her life, but got injured after falling. Another student, Seema, got scared after seeing Radhika’s condition and fainted in the school premises itself. As soon as the information was received, the school administration immediately sent both the girl students to the hospital.

Local people and the school administration allege that even before this, bear activities had been seen around the school, information about which was given to the Forest Department and Education Department. Despite this, neither regular patrolling was increased nor concrete security arrangements were made. There is anger among the parents after the incident. He says that if action had been taken in time, the lives of the children would not have been in danger.

Forest Department Area Officer Gopeshwar Pankaj Kumar God said that as soon as the information was received, the team reached the spot and patrolled the surrounding areas. He claimed that now continuous monitoring and patrolling will be increased in the area, so that such incidents do not happen again.
