Horrific road accident in Tamil Nadu, 9 people died due to bus tire burst

Cuddalore: of Tamil Nadu A terrible road accident happened last night near Thittakudi. In this, nine people died on the spot while many others were injured. The injured were admitted to the nearest hospital. Among the dead were 5 men and 4 women.

The cause of the accident is said to be tire burst of the bus. State Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed grief over the deaths and expressed his condolences to the grieving families. Also announced compensation to the affected families.

An express bus of State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) had left from Trichy for Chennai at night. When the bus was passing through Ezhunthur area near Thittakudi in Cuddalore district, suddenly its front tire burst. The driver lost control of the bus after the tire burst. The bus broke the middle barrier and went to the other lane. Then it collided heavily with two cars coming from the other direction (from Chennai towards Trichy). In this terrible accident, both the cars were badly crushed under the bus. The collision was so severe that the cars were blown to pieces.

Children also included among those who died

Nine people, including two children and women, traveling in the cars died on the spot. Their bodies buried between the cars were removed with great difficulty. On receiving the information, Thittakudi and Ramanatham police reached the spot and with the help of people, rescued the people trapped under the debris. The injured were sent to government hospitals in Perambalur and Thittakudi for treatment.

Due to this accident, there was a queue of vehicles for several kilometers on the Chennai-Trichy National Highway. Traffic was severely affected for more than two hours. Police used cranes to remove damaged vehicles and regulate traffic. Police are investigating whether the deceased belonged to the same family or were traveling in different cars.

Police said that on Wednesday, nine people died when a government bus turned to the other side and collided with two vehicles near here. He told that due to burst tyre, the bus changed direction, in which 4 people including 2 children were seriously injured and they are undergoing treatment in government hospitals.

Chief Minister Stalin announced compensation

State Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed grief over the deaths and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families. He directed the officials to give Rs 3 lakh to the family of each deceased from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund. Also, the injured will get Rs 1 lakh each. The government said in a statement that the dead included 5 men and 4 women. The Chief Minister ordered officials to ensure best care of the injured in government hospitals.
