Sri Muktsar Sahib (Punjab): A father brutally murdered his daughter on Sunday morning in the district. The daughter was only 18 years old. This incident took place in Midda village under Kabarwala police station of Sri Muktsar Sahib district.
According to the information, Harpal Singh, a resident of Midda village, attacked his sleeping daughter with a sharp knife at around 7 am on Sunday morning, due to which she died. The deceased girl has been identified as Chamandeep Kaur. At the same time, the police reached the spot and started investigating the entire matter in depth.
Giving information, SHO of Kabarwala police station, Harpreet Kaur said, “They got information about this incident and immediately reached the spot, took possession of the body and started an in-depth investigation of the entire matter.”
The SHO said that the reason behind the murder is that the father of the deceased girl did not want his daughter to study further. Due to which the father took this step. Police have registered a case on the statements of Jaswinder Kaur, the mother of the deceased girl.
SHO Harpreet Kaur said, “The deceased girl was earlier studying in Mohali. Her body has been sent to Malout Civil Hospital for postmortem.”
According to information received from local people, the deceased girl Chamandeep Kaur was performing very well in sports and studies. He also won the gold medal in power lifting. After completing her studies from Mohali, the girl was studying further by staying at her relatives’ place in Firozpur. She had come home for holidays.
