In this message, Trump wrote, “On behalf of the people of the United States, I heartily congratulate the Government of India and the people of India on their 77th Republic Day. The United States and India share a historic bond as the world’s oldest and largest democracies.” Following Trump’s remarks, US Ambassador Sergio Gore also congratulated on the occasion of Republic Day. He said that he is feeling honored to participate in the parade for the first time on the occasion of India’s Republic Day. Seeing American-made aircraft flying in the Indian skies is a powerful symbol of the strong political partnership between America and India. It is noteworthy that there has been a lot of change in the relations between India and America from the last Republic Day to this Republic Day. In the first year of Trump’s second term, America has imposed 50 percent tariff on India and there has been a lot of discord between the two countries.
