Islamabad. A latest medical report regarding the health of former Prime Minister of Pakistan and PTI chief Imran Khan has created panic in the entire country. Imran Khan, lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, is suffering from a serious eye disease, which poses a threat of permanent loss of vision in his right eye. According to the medical team, Imran Khan is suffering from a disease called Central Retinal Vein Occlusion. In this condition, a blood clot forms in the veins of the retina of the eye, which impairs vision. If they do not get specialist treatment immediately, they may lose the vision in one eye completely.
A delegation of doctors from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, after examining him in jail, has given a clear warning that Imran Khan urgently needs a specialist hospital and state-of-the-art operation theatre. Doctors believe that it is not possible to treat his eye with the limited resources available within the prison. The severe cold wave prevailing in North Pakistan and the dry cold of the prison have made his allergies and infections more serious, causing the situation to get out of control. Imran Khan’s party and his family have made serious allegations against the current Shehbaz Sharif government and the military administration. His sisters, Alima and Uzma Khan, say that Imran is being mentally and physically tortured by deliberately keeping him in solitary confinement. For the last 55 days from December 2, 2025, he has been kept completely cut off from the world. The height of the torture is that they are not being allowed to meet even their lawyers and family members. There is a growing fear among supporters that this is a well-planned conspiracy to medically murder him in jail so that he can be physically incapacitated. Imran’s sisters have demanded that he be immediately shifted to Shaukat Khanum Hospital, where he can be given proper treatment. Meanwhile, the next medical review to be held on January 31, 2026 may prove to be decisive for Pakistan’s politics. If the medical report finds his condition to have worsened, then the anger of his supporters may erupt on the streets of Pakistan, which is expected to lead to a civil war-like situation. The jail administration and the government have currently maintained silence on these allegations, but the increasing tension is pointing towards a major political explosion.
