China hanged 11 people of Ming mafia family, the kingpin had a mansion in Britain

Beijing. China hanged 11 people of Myanmar’s notorious Ming mafia family. This is the same gang which was infamous for serious crimes on the internet like fake romance, cryptocurrency fraud, online scams and human slavery. The members of this gang first lured people into online love trap and then forced them into illegal activities like fraud, prostitution and forced labour. The Chinese court had sentenced all of them to death in September and the sentence was executed on Thursday.
According to media reports, members of the Ming family were found guilty of crimes such as ‘murder, assault, illegal detention, fraud and illegal casino operations’. Reports have claimed that this gang had till now killed at least 14 Chinese citizens and made many people disabled. Their network operated in a very cruel manner in the Laukang area of Myanmar, where victims were forcibly held captive and defrauded. The method of Ming Mafia was extremely dangerous. These people used to lure people into love through ‘love scam’ and then rob them in the name of crypto investment. If anyone refused to work for them, they were imprisoned and subjected to electric shocks and brutal torture.
The leader of this gang, Chen Xie, was living a luxurious life in Britain. He had a mansion worth crores on Avenue Road, a posh area of London, along with many expensive commercial buildings and flats in his name. The British Government has seized all his locations so that the criminal proceeds can be wiped off. This type of mafia network has reached India also. So far, more than 70 Indians are trapped in many ‘digital slavery’ centers running in Myanmar and Cambodia. Recently the Government of India has launched a massive rescue operation. On 6 November 2025, special aircraft of the Indian Air Force rescued 270 Indians via Thailand. Earlier in March 2025 also, 549 Indians were evacuated safely from the Myanmar-Thailand border.
According to the report, youth are often called to Thailand on the pretext of ‘IT job’ and then kidnapped and taken to Myanmar. There their passports are taken away and they are forced to undergo online scams like ‘pig butchering’. Gangs like Ming are now targeting Indians too, because they want to use English and Hindi speaking people to defraud the Indian market.
