Gujarat-Starlink LOI signed, digital connectivity will increase in remote areas

Gujarat The government has exchanged a letter of intent (LOI) for mutual cooperation with Starlink Satellite Communications Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Lan Musk’s SpaceX. After this agreement, rural and remote areas of the state can be connected digitally. This will provide high speed satellite based internet connectivity in remote, remote and areas with low telecom facilities and network problems. Under this LOI, there is a plan to connect Common Service Centers (CSCs), e-governance facilities, government schools, district disaster management control rooms, ports, areas of wildlife sanctuaries in the pilot project. This LOI will become an important step for digital inclusion in all the districts like Narmada and Dahod. This will ensure reliable digital service delivery along with increased security and stability through strong connectivity for police outposts, disaster management centres, wildlife monitoring and agricultural research centres. Along with this, smart connectivity for education in schools of the state and health facilities and tele-medicine facilities in Primary Health Centers (PHCs) will be easily and quickly available. Joint training programs will also be organized in future for capacity building of various government agencies, departments, schools and disaster response teams. This LOI exchange ceremony was held in Gandhinagar on Monday in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi. Industries Commissioner P. Swarup on behalf of the State Government and Prabhakar Jayakumar, Head of Starlink India on behalf of Starlink exchanged this LOI.
