New Delhi. During the budget session of Parliament on Thursday, February 12, Question Hour could not be held once again due to uproar in the Lok Sabha. Meanwhile, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju released a video on social media platform X, in which the alleged uproar in the Lok Sabha Speaker’s chamber has been mentioned. Rijiju claimed that opposition MPs abused the Speaker in the presence of Priyanka Gandhi. He indicated that the matter would be taken seriously.
On the other hand, it is being claimed in media reports that the government may bring a breach of privilege motion against Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. Rijiju himself had also talked about bringing a privilege motion in the context of the allegations made by Rahul Gandhi against the government.
Sharp statements of BJP MPs
BJP MP Rekha Sharma, targeting Rahul Gandhi, said that he is obstructing the proceedings of the House and makes allegations by taking someone’s name without thinking. He said that bringing a privilege motion against him is an appropriate step. Whereas BJP MP Nishikant Dubey talked about giving notice against Rahul Gandhi in Lok Sabha. Dubey alleged that Rahul Gandhi is trying to mislead the country. They have also demanded termination of his membership and a lifetime ban on him from contesting elections.
Priyanka Gandhi called the allegations false
Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra rejected Rijiju’s allegations and said that no one abused the speaker. He said that one or two MPs had become emotional, but the allegation of instigating or encouraging them is completely false. Priyanka said that she was sitting quietly and finally expressed her views peacefully.
