Pak PM Shahbaz congratulated Tariq Rehman on his victory, addressed him as brother

Dhaka. Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif spoke on phone to Tariq Rehman, who won the Bangladesh elections, on Friday evening. Shahbaz Sharif gave this information in a post on X. Shahbaz addressed Rehman as brother and described the phone call as warm and friendly. This was the first conversation between Tariq Rehman and Shahbaz Sharif after the Bangladesh election results. Before this, Indian PM Narendra Modi had also called Tariq Rehman and congratulated him. Tariq Rahman’s party BNP has won the Bangladesh elections with an overwhelming majority. Tariq Rehman is certain to become PM.
According to media reports, Shehbaz Sharif wrote in a post made on Friday night – Our warm and friendly phone call this evening to my brother Mr. Tariq Rahman, Chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, after his party’s landslide victory in the general elections. Shahbaz further wrote, Pakistan looks forward to strengthening its fraternal relations with Bangladesh, carrying forward the legacy of Begum Khaleda Zia and furthering our shared goals of peace, progress and prosperity. Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari also congratulated Tariq Rehman on his victory in the Bangladesh elections.
Let us tell you that BNP has won a big victory in the elections held on 12th February in Bangladesh. The party has won 211 out of 299 seats. With this, the path is clear for Tariq Rahman to become the next PM of Bangladesh. Now only his name is yet to be announced. After winning the Bangladesh elections, Rahman has claimed to form an inclusive government. He has said that the new government will protect everyone, no matter what religion or sect they believe in.
