Big action by security agencies, posters of wanted terrorists released

Jammu. Jammu and Kashmir Police, while intensifying anti-terrorism operations, has pasted posters at many important places regarding information about terrorists operating in Doda district. Officials said on Saturday that the name of Pakistani commander of banned organization Jaish-e-Mohammed Saifullah is also included in these.

Security operations have been intensified in the high altitude areas of Jammu division after receiving intelligence information regarding the recent encounter and the presence of terrorists in the area. This step has been taken in this sequence. Posters have been put up at major intersections and public places including Ganpat Bridge, Nagari, Desa and Thathri at the entry point of Doda.

Officials said that more notices are being put up in sensitive areas to increase public participation. Meanwhile, on Saturday morning, security forces busted a hideout of terrorists in Chilli forest of Gando area of ​​Doda. Food items and blankets were recovered from there. According to officials, the search operation has been intensified in the surrounding forests.

He said that the general public has been appealed to share any credible information with the police through posters containing photographs and brief descriptions of the suspects. Besides, assurance has also been given to keep the identity of the informers confidential and ensure security.

Officials said this poster campaign is part of broader efforts to dismantle the terrorist network operating in the Chenab Valley region. Doda and neighboring Kishtwar districts have seen several encounters in recent years, as militants have tried to revive activities in parts of the Jammu region where militancy had earlier been largely controlled.

For the last one month, a large-scale search operation is going on in the high altitude areas of Doda, Kishtwar, Kathua, Udhampur, Rajouri and Poonch districts. More than 10 encounters have taken place during this period. Most of these took place in Kishtwar, Udhampur and Kathua, in which four Pakistani terrorists of JeM were killed and one army soldier was martyred. On February 4, two terrorists were killed in an encounter in Ramnagar forest area of ​​Udhampur and Chhatru area of ​​Kishtwar, while on January 23, another terrorist was killed in the outer area of ​​Kathua. At the same time, in the encounter that took place in Chhatru on January 18, a ‘para trooper’ of the army was martyred.
