Every farm will get its own ‘Aadhaar’, records will be completely digital

New Delhi: It is often seen that even for an inch of land one has to go to court for years. Sometimes there is an error in the map, sometimes there is a crisis regarding the identity of the real owner, disputes related to land take away both the savings and peace of the common man. But now a permanent solution to this problem is being found. Delhi government has taken a historic decision, under which now every land, like humans, will have its own Aadhar card. In technical language it has been named ULPIN i.e. ‘Unique Plot Identification Number’. Recently this ‘Bhu-Aadhaar’ has been introduced in Maharashtra.

In this new system, each plot or field will be given a unique number of 14 digits. This is what is being called ‘land base’. Just as your identity becomes visible as soon as you enter your Aadhaar number, similarly the entire history of the land will be revealed as soon as you enter this 14 digit number in the system. What is the area of that land, what are its boundaries, who is its real owner and what crops have been grown on it till now, all this information will be available on one click.
