New Delhi. Monday was a day full of confusion for the Congress Party. Leaders like Mani Shankar Aiyar opened a front against the party high command, while former Assam President Bhupen Bora also sent his resignation to the party. He had accused the party high command of ignoring him. Amidst this turmoil, Bharatiya Janata Party has started raising questions on the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. The BJP termed Rahul Gandhi as a ‘failed scion’ and said that neither his party leaders nor his colleagues have confidence in him.
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala took a jibe at the infighting that had been going on within the Congress party throughout the day. He said, “Trinamool Congress says remove Rahul, bring Mamata, save ‘Indi-alliance’. Assam Congress leader Bhupen Bora resigns. Mani Shankar Aiyar says Congress will lose Kerala and Vijayan will win.” The BJP leader questioned whether more evidence was needed to understand that neither Gandhi’s own party leaders nor his colleagues take him seriously. The BJP leader sharpened his attack by saying, “Rahul Gandhi has neither public opinion nor support… He is simply a failed privileged dynasty.”
Let us tell you, till the time of writing the news, the former Congress President of Assam had withdrawn his resignation. Apart from this, regarding Mani Shankar Aiyar, the Congress Party said that he is no longer in the party, hence there is no point in linking his statement with the party. In fact, Mani Shankar Aiyar had said that he was confident that Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan would remain in his post. Apart from this, he also targeted spokesperson Pawan Kheda and Shashi Tharoor. There was tremendous opposition from the Congress party regarding his statement. On the issue of the party not having any relation with the Congress, the former MP said that only President Mallikarjun Kharge can expel him from the party.
The Congress party may have distanced itself from this statement but the BJP left no opportunity to attack. “Rahul Gandhi has been completely rejected by Congress leaders. Rahul Gandhi has been openly rejected by staunch Congress loyalist Mani Shankar Aiyar,” spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari wrote on social media site X.
Bhandari said, “Be it Iyer or Trinamool Congress or Bhupen Bora, everyone knows. Rahul Gandhi is a political ‘Pappu’. Loyalists who have spent their entire lives in Congress are now openly speaking against Rahul Gandhi.”
Actually, this whole matter started after the statement of former Congress MP Mani Shankar Aiyar, in which he targeted Congress leaders. He also targeted Pawan Kheda, KC Venugopal and Shashi Tharoor. Apart from this, the resignation of former Congress President from Assam Bhupen also tried to ruin the day of the Congress party. There was a sharp comment from the Congress party on Mani Shankar’s issue, in which it was said that Mani Shankar Aiyar is no longer in the party, on which he taunted and said that he is a Nehruist and a Rajivist but not a Rahulist. Not only this, Iyer said that only Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has the right to expel him from the party.
