In a social media post, Goyal said the agreement signed between India and the UAE four years ago under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the beginning of a new chapter of economic partnership. According to him, the positive impact of CEPA has been seen in the manufacturing, services and agriculture sectors. The Minister said that this agreement has benefited exporters, supported MSMEs and strengthened agricultural exports. Additionally, farmers have better access to premium global markets. He stressed that the agreement has opened up many new sectoral opportunities, further strengthening India’s position as a global trade hub.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Storey in Oslo on Wednesday and discussed the implementation of the India-EFTA and TEPA agreements. During this, there were also detailed discussions on major areas of cooperation between the two countries. According to the Finance Ministry, in the meeting, emphasis was laid on the possibilities of increasing partnership in areas like high-tech manufacturing, carbon capture and storage, startups, semiconductor, renewable energy and waste management. The Ministry said in a social media post that the Prime Minister of Norway expressed enthusiasm about the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Norway this year and expressed confidence that this visit will further strengthen India-Norway cooperation.
