Why did Jharkhand Housing Board serve notice to Dhoni? The matter is related to residential plot

Jharkhand Housing Board has issued a notice to former Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni over alleged misuse of a residential plot. If the allegations are found true in the investigation, the allotment of the plot can be cancelled. Jharkhand State Housing Board has sent a notice to former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in connection with the alleged misuse of one of his residential plots in Ranchi. An official confirmed this on Friday. The notice said that the plot allotted to the World Cup-winning captain was given only for residential use. But officials claim that this property is being used for commercial activities, which is a violation of the terms of allotment. Jharkhand Housing Board Chairman Sanjay Lal Paswan told Aaj Tak over phone that the board had allotted this land to many people for residential purposes. However, when it was reported that the land was being used for commercial activities, notices were issued to several officials, including Dhoni, and dozens of others, asking why the residential plot was being used commercially. Paswan said the information about the alleged violation of rules and provisions came to light during an investigation conducted by the board. Based on the findings of the investigation, a final notice has been issued to Dhoni seeking an explanation regarding the alleged misappropriation of the property. The official also said that if the notice is not complied with or a satisfactory reply is not given, the board can initiate the process of canceling the allotment of the plot. This action will be taken as per the prescribed rules and provisions related to residential land use. Dhoni has earlier resided in the same property located on Harmu Road, which is now under investigation. The controversy began when allegations surfaced that a diagnostic center was being operated from the premises on Harmu Road. After this the Housing Board started a formal investigation. Meanwhile, allegations of non-residential or commercial use of a residential plot have also come to light in relation to the BJP state office located on Harmu Road. In this matter also, the board has already issued a notice. Officials said that the investigation in both the cases is currently going on and further action will be decided based on the results of the investigation. He said that appropriate steps will be taken according to whatever findings emerge in the investigation.
