To increase legal awareness in the country, National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has launched a new national level youth film competition. This competition has been named ‘Frames of Justice’. Its objective is to spread information about legal rights to the common people through youth, especially law students.
This initiative has been launched under the leadership of Supreme Court judge and acting chairman of NALSA, Vikram Nath. Undergraduate and postgraduate law students from across the country can participate in the competition. Participants can make a reel of up to 90 seconds or a short film of up to three minutes. The video will feature topics related to legal aid schemes, access to justice and rights of common people. Entries must be sent as per a prescribed procedure, otherwise they will be rejected. Hindi or English subtitles will be mandatory for films made in regional languages. The winners will be given prizes and certificates at the zone level. The selected films will also be shown on the digital platform of NALSA, so that legal information can reach more people.
