Holika Dahan was done after the puja in Delhi, Mumbai and many cities. In Bhopal, CM Mohan Yadav lit Holi with his wife and in Ahmedabad, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel lit Holi.
Holika Dahan was done on the theme of Love Jihad in Worli, Mumbai. Special aarti was performed in the evening at Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. Holi festival is being celebrated as Dola Purnima in Jagannath Temple of Odisha.
Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra will appear in ‘Suna Bhesha’ (golden attire). Lord will wear 138 types of gold ornaments like Shri Bhuj, Shri Payar, Ratna Kirat, Ratna Mukut, Kanthi, Bahuti.
Their weight is more than 200 kg. The eclipse period on Tuesday is from 3:20 pm to 6:47 pm. Due to this, Suna Bhasha will happen between 8 to 9 pm.
Will apply Gulal while sitting in Dola Mandap
Jagannath culture promoter Pandit Padmanabha Tripathi Sharma told that this is one of the 12 big journeys of Mahaprabhu. Radha-Krishna are worshiped during Dola all over the country, but here Dola Gobind, Bhudevi and Sridevi are worshipped. The Lord is made to sit in a special Dola Mandap and Gulal is applied.
