New Delhi. Amidst the deepening crisis in West Asia, India’s position in terms of energy security is currently very strong. The existing energy reserves in the country are sufficient and it is being replenished continuously every day. Sources associated with the government gave this information on Thursday.
‘India is also looking for alternative sources’
Sources said there is no shortage of LPG or LNG in the country. There is no shortage of crude oil in the world and India is also in constant touch with other supplier countries. He said that Australia and Canada have also offered to sell gas to India. India is also looking for alternative sources. Recently, India has also signed new energy agreements with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and America. He said that India imports about 195 MMSCMD (million standard cubic meters per day) of gas. Of this, about 60 MMSCMD gas comes from Qatar. India is now also looking for other markets to buy gas.
Government is also in talks with oil producing countries
The government is also in talks with major oil producing countries and traders to ensure the supply of crude oil and LPG. Sources said that India is also in talks with the International Energy Agency and OPEC on energy related issues. Apart from this, India is also discussing with America regarding insurance of ships. The government is reviewing the energy situation twice a day, so that there is no problem regarding supply and security.
