New Delhi. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has busted a large international drug trafficking network involving Nepal, India and Sri Lanka. During this action, the officials have seized 77.60 kg of hashish oil and 2 kg of hashish, whose value in the international market is said to be around Rs 10 crore. NCB officials said that in this operation, two cars used by smugglers, a motorcycle and a fishing boat were also seized. Preliminary investigation has revealed that smugglers used sea routes and border areas to bring drugs into India and then transport them to various states and the international market. So far five people have been arrested in this case. The arrested accused also include a Sri Lankan refugee, who is considered an important link in the network. The agency is interrogating him and trying to find out who are the other members of this gang and in which countries this network is spread. According to sources, the gang used to bring drugs into India through Nepal and Sri Lanka. NCB had received intelligence information about the activities of this network, on the basis of which this action was taken by raiding various places. NCB officials said that a thorough investigation of the entire network is underway and more arrests may be made in the coming days. Also, it is being ascertained which international gangs are active behind this smuggling. The agency clarified that such actions will continue to stop drug trafficking in the country.
