Appearance: Surat, famous as Diamond and Silk City, is now moving towards a new religious identity. A grand temple of Lord Mahakal and Salasar Balaji of Ujjain is going to be built here. Preparations for the construction of this Mahadham have been started by Shri Mahakaleshwar Salasar Hanuman Trust. Soon Bhoomi Pujan will be performed in the presence of saints and mahatmas. Mahadham is going to be very grand and divine.
Trust’s founder trustee Satyanarayan Goyal and treasurer Ravi Kapure said that Mahadham will be constructed near Palsana Chowkdi in Surat. The estimated cost of which is going to be around Rs 400 crore. At the same time, its construction is expected to be completed by 28 April 2029. Mahadham will take the shape of a grand temple on 29.25 bighas i.e. 58,000 square yards of land. Its Bhoomi Pujan ceremony will be organized on March 1, 2026 in the presence of saints and mahatmas.
Trust officials Alok Aggarwal and Rajendra Patwari said that preparations for the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony are in full swing. On this occasion, prominent saints, saints, social workers, industrialists and political personalities from across the country will be present. Chief Mahant of Ujjain Mahakal Temple, Guru Pradeep Sharma and Chief Priest of Salasar Balaji, Vishanji Mittha ji will also participate in the ceremony. Bhoomi Pujan will be performed in a very grand manner, preparations for which are being done for a long time.
The Trust has appealed to the religious people of Surat, Bhamashahs and industry leaders to join and cooperate in this great ritual. He says that the more people join this initiative, the sooner ‘Mahadham’ will be ready. This temple will take the religious and cultural pride of Surat to new heights. Many facilities will be available for the devotees in the temple. The grand temple complex will have a huge cow shed, a restaurant with seating for more than 1000 people and a guest house with 150 rooms and much more.
