Satna. A horrific road accident took place on Monday on Ramvan Path Gaman Road under Uchehara police station area. A truck coming at high speed from the wrong side hit the bus full of policemen hard.
The bus driver, conductor and many policemen were injured in the accident. The collision was so severe that the front part of the bus was badly damaged.
The police team of Satna district was traveling in the bus.
According to the information received, the bus was carrying a police team from Satna district, which was sent on law and order (line order) duty in Dhar district. After completing the duty, the police team was returning back to Satna by bus. Meanwhile, a speeding truck coming from the front on Ramvan Path Gaman Road came on the wrong side and hit the bus.
There were about 50 policemen in the bus
It is being told that about 50 policemen were traveling in the bus. After the collision, there was chaos inside the bus and several policemen fell from their seats, suffering injuries to their hands, legs and head. As soon as information about the accident was received, Uchehra police station reached the spot and relief and rescue operations were started immediately.
All the injured were taken to the nearest hospital with the help of an ambulance, where their treatment is going on. According to doctors, the condition of most of the injured is said to be stable.
The truck driver fled from the spot leaving the vehicle behind.
Meanwhile, after the accident the truck driver left the vehicle and fled from the spot. Police have seized the truck and started searching for the driver. Preliminary investigation reveals high speed and wrong side driving to be the cause of the accident. Police are investigating the matter in detail.
