No leader of Uddhav Sena attended the press conference held to announce the name of 85-year-old Sharad Pawar. He said that Sanjay Raut had already come in this regard and met Sharad Pawar and assured that if you become a candidate, we will be with you.

It is true that Sanjay Raut has been continuously saying that Sharad Pawar should go to Rajya Sabha. However, his tone was different from Aditya Thackeray, who wanted that Priyanka Chaturvedi should get one more chance. Priyanka Chaturvedi’s tenure has ended and she has not got a chance again. She was also seen emotional on the last day of her tenure in Rajya Sabha. In this way, the entire episode is being seen as a tussle between Aditya Thackeray and Sanjay Raut and on the basis of this people are saying that Sanjay Raut put a veto on Priyanka’s name and thus the path for Sharad Pawar was cleared. People having knowledge of the matter say that Sanjay Raut emerged as the winner in a way and decided the agenda of Uddhav Sena. Now it is being said that Uddhav Sena may get a Legislative Council seat. But a section of the party believes that the biggest party in the opposition is Uddhav Sena. Still, it is sad that Rajya Sabha seats go to NCP-SP. Congress had also claimed the Rajya Sabha seat. Rahul Gandhi was also discussed in this regard, but in the end the party agreed on the name of Sharad Pawar only. Now it remains to be seen what happens on the MLC seat. Uddhav Thackeray’s MLC tenure will end next month itself. In such a situation, eyes are on whether he will be repeated or some other leader can be given a chance in his place.
