Amit Shah in Kolkata: Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, on Monday, where he fiercely targeted the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government during a press conference. He said that during the last 15 years of TMC rule in Bengal, an atmosphere of insecurity has been created among the common citizens due to fear, corruption, misgovernance and infiltration.
Speaking on the issue of infiltration, Amit Shah made serious allegations against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He said that so far he has written seven letters regarding fencing on the India-Bangladesh border. Apart from this, in the last six years the Home Secretary has visited West Bengal thrice and also met the Chief Secretary of the state. Despite this, the state government is not providing land for fencing the border. Amit Shah raised the question that what is the fear of giving land to the Bengal government and does it deliberately want to continue the infiltration.
During Amit Shah in Kolkata, the Home Minister also alleged that the Bengal government is preparing documents for infiltrators, which is dangerously changing the population structure of the state. He said that infiltration has stopped on the borders of Tripura, Assam, Rajasthan, Punjab, Kashmir and Gujarat, but this is not happening in West Bengal because political protection is being given here.
Amit Shah made it clear that infiltration from the Bengal border is a serious issue of national security and the upcoming elections will be fought on this issue. He said that the time from today to April is very important for the state, because elections will be held during this period. The BJP assures the citizens of Bengal that once in power, the state’s heritage will be revived, development will be given priority and a strong national grid will be created to prevent infiltration.
