Public sector defense company Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sasmos HET Technologies Limited to strengthen indigenous defense production. The company gave this information on Friday. According to BEL, under this agreement both the companies will work together in the field of defense electronics, system integration and precision manufacturing. Its objective is to increase indigenous manufacturing of important components of defense equipment, strengthen domestic production and promote exports. Under this partnership, work will be done in areas like fiber optic systems, avionics, mission-related electronic systems and aerospace level interconnect solutions.
India-Japan will cooperate in semiconductor-AI sector
Taking the special strategic and global partnership between India and Japan to a new height, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Friday held detailed discussions with Sadamasa Oye, Special Advisor to the Japanese Prime Minister, on further strengthening the pillars of defense technology and economic security. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the main focus of the discussions during this meeting was the India-Japan Economic Security Initiative, the foundation of which was laid in 2025. Under this initiative, both the countries are working together in strategic sectors like semiconductors, critical minerals, pharmaceuticals and clean energy.
