Big encounter in Delhi before Republic Day, two criminals of Himanshu Bhau gang arrested

Delhi News: Before the Republic Day, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police arrested two notorious criminals associated with Himanshu Bhau gang after an encounter. The head constable’s life narrowly escaped in the firing. The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has foiled a major incident just before the Republic Day. After the encounter, the police have arrested two notorious criminals associated with Himanshu alias Bhau gang. The arrested accused include the main accused Vicky alias Mowgli and his associate Chander Bhan. According to the police, both the accused had come to Delhi with the intention of committing some major crime.

Vicky alias Mowgli is the wanted criminal of Rohtak.
The main accused Vicky alias Mowgli was wanted in several sensational murder cases registered in Rohtak, Haryana. Haryana Police had also declared a reward of Rs 5,000 on him. According to police records, Vicky was working for Himanshu Bhau gang for a long time and used to supply illegal weapons to the gang. Delhi Police officials said that on January 22, the Crime Branch had received input that active members of Himanshu Bhau gang were coming to Delhi to carry out some major crime before the Republic Day. After this, the Crime Branch immediately formed a special team and surveillance was increased in sensitive areas. An attempt was made to stop a white I-20 car near the UER-2 flyover in Baba Haridas Nagar police station area at around 1 am on the intervening night of 22 and 23 January. Seeing themselves surrounded, the miscreants started firing on the police team. The bullet fired by Vicky hit the bulletproof jacket of Head Constable Sandeep, due to which a major accident was averted.

Accused injured in retaliatory firing
The police retaliated in self-defence, in which Vicky was shot in the leg and he was caught on the spot. The injured accused was immediately taken to the hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. Chander Bhan was also arrested from the spot. During the search, a 32 bore pistol and 12 live cartridges were recovered from Vicky, while a country-made pistol and 6 live cartridges were recovered from Chander Bhan. The car used in the crime has also been confiscated.

Big blow to gang network
Police interrogation has revealed that many serious cases like murder, attempt to murder, Arms Act and POCSO are registered against Vicky. Police say that this action has dealt a big blow to the gang network active in Delhi and Haryana. The investigation of the case is still going on.
