Canada tightens visa rules, strictness will increase on foreign students and tourists

Canada has made its visa rules quite strict. All officers have been ordered to follow the new rules properly. In such a situation, it may be difficult for international students, workers and tourists to stay in Canada.

Canada has tightened visa rules, allowing officials to cancel visas and re-examine permits. On November 4, Canada has issued new guidelines changing the rules of Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

What are the new rules?
IRCC’s new guidelines detail the visa rules for people coming to Canada for travel, study, work or electronic travel. According to the new rules, one-time approval on visa will no longer be applicable, but it will have to be renewed from time to time.

According to Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) Gurpreet Oshan, Canada has changed the visa rules, which will be applicable to temporary residents. This list includes people holding study permit, work permit and temporary resident visa.

Gurpreet Oshan says
Under the new rules, the immigration officer can cancel the visa permit even after it has been issued. This action can be taken before boarding a plane or while entering a Canadian port.

Who will be affected?
According to experts, Canada’s new policy may have the biggest impact on parents, who go to Canada from time to time to meet their children. Under the new rules, if they do not return before the expiry of the visa period, the visiting visa can be cancelled. According to statistics, till September 30, 2024, a total of 5 lakh 10 thousand Indians had gone to Canada on study visa.
