New Delhi. The Central Government has spent only 40 percent of the budget on its biggest plans in this financial year. These are the schemes for which a budget of about Rs 500 crore was earmarked. The Center and the states have to spend jointly on these schemes. These schemes include Infrastructure Improvement under Health and Family Welfare, Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme and Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Caste students. Apart from this, only 40 percent has been spent on MNREGA and Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Tribe students.

On the remaining 47 schemes, the revised estimate is less than the budget estimate. A budget of Rs 850 crore was allocated in the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, out of which only Rs 150 crore has been spent.

If we talk about total expenditure on total 53 schemes then it is Rs 3.8 crore. A budget of Rs 5 lakh crore was announced on these schemes. A budget of Rs 2 lakh crore was released till 31 December.
