Congress announces names of 6 candidates, Singhvi and Narendra Reddy in the fray from Telangana

Hyderabad: The Congress party has decided to nominate Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Vem Narendra Reddy for two Rajya Sabha seats from Telangana. The party on Thursday announced six candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections to be held in two years on March 16 in 10 states.

Senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi is the sitting member from Telangana, while Reddy is currently an advisor to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. There will be two seats vacant in Telangana in April. Meanwhile, Phulo Devi Netam, Karamveer Boudh and Christopher Tilak have been fielded from Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Tamil Nadu respectively.

AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal announced the names in an official communication. After the AICC announcement, Narendra took to social media to thank Congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
