Court ordered, fine of Rs 5000 for feeding pigeons

Mumbai Municipal Corporation decided to close the pigeon house in view of the threat posed by pigeons to the health of the general public. Apart from the pigeon house in Dadar, action was also taken at other places. Some people became angry with this decision. Many people protested, but the Bombay High Court did not give any relief in this matter. Even after this, some people came to Dadar and fed the pigeons. The court found businessman Nitin Sheth, living in Dadar area, guilty in this case and imposed a fine on him. It is being said that this is the first case of such punishment in the country.

Nitin Sheth lives in Dadar area. He is a businessman. After the pigeon shelter in Dadar area was closed, he came here and fed the pigeons. The police have registered a case against him in this matter.

Nitin has accepted his mistake. Police said that this businessman was doing so despite the ban on feeding pigeons in public places. On the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered against this businessman and legal action has been initiated against him.

A fine of Rs 5,000 was imposed

In this case the court imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the businessman. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate BY Misal gave this decision on Monday. The punishment was given under section 223 (b) of the Indian Penal Code. It was clear that the businessman had endangered the health, life and safety of the public. Apart from this, he was also accused of spreading disease dangerous to health under Section 271 of the BNS.

Punished for the first time in the country

In this decision, the court has made it clear that this type of punishment is being given for the first time. This is an example. Therefore, the court has made it clear in the judgment that people should not commit such acts in future.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has already banned feeding pigeons. The Bombay High Court also heard this case in August. The High Court has upheld the ban on feeding pigeons in public places.
