
Bangladesh Political Crisis: The International Criminal Tribunal (ICT-BD) is going to give its verdict today on the alleged crimes against humanity against former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. This day is going to be very important for Sheikh Hasina. But even before the decision, tension has increased in many cities of Bangladesh. In view of the increasing tension, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued orders to shoot violent protesters.
Even before the court’s decision, incidents of arson and crude bomb blasts have been recorded in many cities including Dhaka. Security agencies have been put on alert. ICT-BD prosecutors have demanded death penalty for Sheikh Hasina.
There are a total of 5 charges against these three, in which the first charge sheet contains allegations of murder, attempt to murder, torture and inhuman treatment. The second claimed that Hasina had given instructions to conduct a “clearance operation” against the protesters. Apart from this, there is also an allegation of giving provocative statements and ordering the use of deadly weapons on the students. In two more cases, all three have been accused of shooting and killing six unarmed protesters in and around Dhaka. For which the court’s decision will come today. Security has been increased outside the International Criminal Tribunal (ICT) before the announcement of the verdict in this case.

On Sunday night, at many places including Dhaka, unidentified people set fire to the vehicle dumping corner of the police station complex. Crude bombs were detonated outside the house, apart from this, explosions were carried out at many places in the capital. Hasina’s party Awami League (banned in Bangladesh) has announced a two-day strike ahead of the decision of the International Criminal Tribunal (ICT-BD).
