New Delhi. The investigation into the car bomb blast that took place on November 10, 2025 near the Red Fort in Delhi has shockingly revealed that there was deep division within this terrorist module of Jaish-e-Mohammed regarding ideology, attack strategy and use of funds. The differences between suicide bomber Dr Omar Un Nabi and the other members were so deep that Omar even refused to attend the wedding of his partner Adil Rather in October. According to the investigating agencies, the arrested accused Muzammil Ganai, Adil Rather and Mufti Irfan Wage were influenced by the ideology of al-Qaeda, which gives priority to attacks on western countries and distant enemies. Whereas Dr. Umar Un Nabi was inclined towards the radical ideology of ISIS. He believed that the nearest enemy (India) should be targeted first and establishing the Caliphate was the supreme goal.
Omar considered himself the heir to the legacy of Kashmir’s notorious terrorists Burhan Wani and Zakir Musa. This ideological conflict had become the biggest threat to the unity of the module. Most of the group members (except Wage) first wanted to go to Afghanistan for training, but were unsuccessful. After this he decided to launch a major attack in India itself. Dr. Umar was doing intensive research on the technology of making IED on the internet since 2023 and used to experiment with chemicals in a rented house in Faridabad. There was also a heated argument regarding the funds received by the module. Umar was accused of misuse of funds. The investigation revealed that the main financial support was provided by Shaheen Shahid Ansari, a student of Al Falah University, who was a classmate of Muzammil Ganai. Shaheen had reportedly raised around Rs 20 lakh through organized crowdfunding. She was associated with Jaish’s women recruitment wing ‘Jamaat-ul-Mominat’ and was playing an important role in raising funds and resources for the Faridabad operation.
Following the arrest of Mufti Irfan Wage in October, Omar met the remaining members in Qazigund, Kashmir on 18 October. In this meeting he tried to get his colleagues to agree to his ISIS-inspired strategy and reportedly succeeded. Exactly three weeks later, a blast occurred in Delhi. Wage’s arrest gave the police access to the entire module. 2900 kg of explosive material was recovered from Faridabad, which included high-powered explosives, chemicals, electronic circuits, remote controls and ignition devices. Both Omar and Ganai had keys to the room where the material was hidden. This case shows that no matter how organized terrorist organizations appear to be, ideological and personal differences within them weaken them. Nevertheless, these differences do not stop them from killing civilians.
