Dipu Das’s family will get financial help, interim government of Bangladesh announces that they will build a permanent house.

Dhaka. The interim government of Bangladesh has announced a comprehensive economic assistance and rehabilitation package for the family of Dipu Chandra Das, a Hindu youth who was a victim of fundamentalist mob violence in Mymensingh district. The government has made it clear that the culprits of this heinous murder will not be spared under any circumstances and it is its primary responsibility to provide justice to the victim’s family.
Dipu Das belonged to a very poor family and was the only earning member of his family. After his murder, the family faced a serious economic and social crisis. Keeping this in mind, the interim government has decided to arrange financial help and permanent accommodation for the family. It is noteworthy that on December 18, 2025, Dipu Das was brutally murdered by a furious mob on charges of alleged blasphemy in Square Masterbari area of ​​Waluka Upazila of Mymensingh district. He was first brutally beaten, then set on fire and later hanged from a tree. This incident had raised serious questions regarding the safety of minorities in the entire country and concern was also raised at the international level.
On the instructions of the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government, Education Advisor Dr. C.R. On 23 December 2025, Abrar reached Mokamiakanda village of Banihala Union in Tarakanda Upazila of Mymensingh district and met the family of Dipu Das. He expressed condolences to the family members and assured all possible help from the government.
According to media reports, the government has now announced that a permanent permanent house will be constructed for Dipu Das’s family. An amount of 25 lakh Bangladeshi Taka has been sanctioned for this and this construction will be done through the National Housing Authority. Apart from this, Dipu Das’s father and his wife will be given direct financial assistance of Taka 10 lakh each, so that the immediate needs of the family can be met. Keeping in mind the future and safety of children, the government has also decided to create a fixed deposit of Taka 5 lakh, which can help in their education and upbringing.
According to media reports, on this occasion, education advisor Dr. C.R. Abrar said that the murder of Dipu Chandra Das is a heinous crime, which has no place in the society. He said the assistance provided by the government cannot compensate for any human loss, but the state stands with the victim’s family and is committed to ensuring justice.
So far 12 people have been arrested in the Dipu Das murder case and investigation into the case is going on. The interim government has reiterated that strict legal action will be taken against all the culprits involved in this incident and they will be punished as per law.
