Double attack of ‘gas chamber’ and fog in Delhi; There was panic due to cancellation of 148 flights, see the new advisory before leaving.

Flights Cancelled: Due to dense fog in Delhi-NCR, 148 flights have been canceled from Indira Gandhi International Airport. This includes 70 departure and 78 arrival flights. Apart from this, 2 flights have been diverted. Dense fog has also affected the operation of many trains. Due to delay in trains, huge crowd is being seen at many stations of Delhi. Visibility has remained very low in Delhi-NCR since this morning, due to which road users are facing problems.

Reason for low busyness
Regarding pollution in Delhi, the Air Quality Early Warning System has predicted that the air quality will remain very poor for two days (31 December and 1 January). If we talk about today’s weather in Delhi, the normal occupancy at IGI Airport at around 8 am was 250 meters, while on the runway it was between 600 to 1000 meters. In view of poor occupancy, IGI Airport decided to cancel the flight.

Delhi Airport issued advisory
Delhi Airport has issued an advisory for passengers, stating, “Visibility is improving at the airport. However, some flights may still be affected. Please be assured that our officials are working closely with all stakeholders to assist passengers and provide necessary support at all terminals. Passengers are requested to contact the respective airlines for updated flight information.”

Alert regarding pollution and dense fog
The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert regarding pollution and dense fog in Delhi. In which it was said that the wind speed has slowed down considerably and the ventilation index has gone below 6,000 square meters per second, due to which the air quality may remain in the category of very poor for the next 6 days. The fog today is also much more than in the past several days. People living in Delhi are struggling with dense fog and dangerous air quality.
