Sir: Currently, SIR i.e. Special Intensive Review Campaign is going on in many states of the country. Under this, the voter list is being updated and special training is being given to the booth level officers (BLOs), so that the names, addresses and other information of the voters can be completely verified. Meanwhile, the biggest question for common voters is that if my name is not there in the voter list of 2003, will my name be deleted from the current voter list?
Can a name be deleted because it is not there in the 2003 list?
In SIR, the voter list of 2003 is being used only as a reference. Not having your name in it does not mean that your name will be removed from the voter list. The main objective of SIR is to make the voter list accurate, correct mistakes, remove duplicate names and include new voters in the list. So if your name is not in the list of 2003, then there is no need to worry. In case of any confusion, you can directly contact your BLO.
