New Delhi. Efforts to extinguish the fire that broke out in a gas well of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) located in Dr. BR Ambedkar Konaseema district of Andhra Pradesh continued on Friday. ONGC teams are currently focused on removing debris from the site so that technical action can be taken at the well mouth.
On January 5, a massive fire broke out following a gas leak in ONGC’s well ‘Mori-5’ near Mori and Irsumanda villages. The flames were said to be about 20 meters high and about 25 meters wide. However now the intensity of the well has reduced. An official said that the debris is being removed. It is possible that all the debris will be cleared in one to two days. Only after that work on the wellhead can be started.
