The election date for 37 Rajya Sabha seats has been announced. The Election Commission said on Wednesday that elections for these 37 seats will be held on March 16. Of these, elections will be held on seven seats in Maharashtra and 5 each in West Bengal and Bihar. Elections are to be held on four Rajya Sabha seats in Odisha, six in Tamil Nadu, three in Assam, two in Chhattisgarh, two in Haryana, two in Telangana and one in Himachal Pradesh.

According to the schedule issued by the Election Commission for the elections on 37 seats of Rajya Sabha, the notification will be issued on 26th February. Nominations will be filed on March 5 and scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on March 6. Nomination papers can be withdrawn till March 9. Voting will take place on March 16 from 9 am to 4 pm and counting of votes will take place on March 16 itself. The election is to be completed before March 20, 2026.
