The design speed of this train is 180 kmph, due to which it has been placed in the category of semi-high-speed trains. At present such high speed is not possible due to track limitations.

The train will have a total capacity to carry 823 passengers. Arrangements have been made for 611 passengers in AC 3-tier, 188 in AC 2-tier and 24 in First AC.

For the convenience of passengers, automatic doors, modern vestibules and berths with better cushioning have been installed in the train. The new suspension system will reduce shocks and noise, making long distance travel more comfortable. Special disinfectant technology has been used for cleaning.

For security reasons, the train will have ‘Kavach’ system and emergency talk-back facility, through which passengers will be able to directly contact the driver in case of need. The Railway Ministry plans to run 12 Vande Bharat Sleeper trains on different routes in the country by 2026, which will completely change the experience of long distance rail travel.
