Prayagraj Magh Mela: On the holy occasion of Makar Sankranti, an amazing flood of faith is being seen in Prayagraj. Lakhs of devotees from all over the country took a dip in the holy Sangam and earned virtuous benefits. Long queues of devotees were seen at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati since morning, due to which the entire fair area was immersed in a devotional atmosphere.
Estimate of bathing of more than 2 crore devotees
According to the administration’s estimate, more than two crore devotees can take Sangam bath in Prayagraj Magh Mela on the day of Makar Sankranti. Keeping in view the possibility of huge crowd, the fair administration had completely banned the movement of four-wheelers from January 13 itself. This helped in controlling the traffic system and providing safe movement to the devotees.
Strict arrangements for security and crowd control
The administration is fully alert in view of the ever increasing crowd. Special crowd control teams have been deployed at all major bathing ghats. Along with this, with the help of police, home guards and volunteers, the devotees are being bathed in an organized manner. The entire fair area is also being monitored through drones and CCTV cameras.
Administration’s appeal
The administration has appealed to the devotees to use only the prescribed routes and ghats and not pay attention to rumours. In Prayagraj Magh Mela, the safety and convenience of the devotees is being given top priority, so that this holy bath of Makar Sankranti can be completed in a peaceful and safe manner.
