Former CJI B.R. Gavai set a moral example, left his official vehicle at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Former CJI of India BR Gavai has retired. The former CJI had reached the swearing-in ceremony of the new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. On Monday, Justice Surya Kant took oath as the 53rd CJI. But during this time former CJI BR Gavai did something like this. Which is being praised a lot.

Official vehicle left in Rashtrapati Bhavan itself

After taking oath, Justice Gavai left his official car, a Mercedes-Benz, at Rashtrapati Bhavan itself. After this he left Rashtrapati Bhavan in his personal vehicle. He did this so that now the new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court can use the government vehicle from today itself.

Former CJI is being praised a lot

Whereas former Justice BR Gavai is being praised a lot. The former CJI has set an example by doing this. Everyone is liking Justice Gavai leaving his official vehicle at Rashtrapati Bhavan and returning in his own vehicle. If the former CJI wanted, he could have gone in the official vehicle but he considered it appropriate to leave the official vehicle for the new Chief Justice.

The new CJI will remain in his post for 15 months.

On Monday, Justice Surya Kant took oath as the 53rd CJI. He will retire after 15 months. His tenure will complete on 9 February 2027. He will retire at the age of 65.

Justice Surya Kant is a resident of Hisar district of Haryana. He was born in a middle class family. He started his career in the field of law as a lawyer and became the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the country.
