New Delhi: Former Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police Amar Singh Chahal has been found seriously injured in his house in Patiala, Punjab. The family immediately took him to Park Hospital in Patiala for treatment. Where the team of doctors has started treating him. His condition remains critical at present. Family members told that Amar Singh Chahal had shot himself. Due to which he has been seriously injured.
Police have recovered a 12-page suicide note from the spot in which it has been mentioned about financial problems due to online fraud. However, police officials have made it clear that the case is being investigated from all aspects and the facts will be thoroughly investigated before reaching any conclusion.
Senior officials said that the forensic team investigated on the spot and collected necessary evidence. Besides, statements of family members and related people are also being recorded. The real reasons for the incident will be known only after the investigation is completed. At present the police is keeping an eye on the entire matter.
The family members of Amar Singh Chahal told that an incident of online fraud had happened with him in which the fraudsters had defrauded him of Rs 8 crore. He has mentioned this in his 12 page suicide note. He has written this letter to the DGP of Punjab in which he has appealed for immediate attention to this matter.
Let us tell you that Amar Singh Chahal is an accused in the 2015 Faridkot firing case. In this case, on 24 February 2023, the Special Investigation Team of Punjab Police under the leadership of ADGP LK Yadav had filed a charge sheet in a court in Faridkot. The name of Aram Singh Chahal is included in this. Names of many big leaders of Punjab have also been included in this charge sheet.
