Grandmother could not get out of the freezer of the mortuary, died due to a mistake by the doctors

Washington. A woman is accidentally locked in a morgue freezer at a hospital. When the woman opened her eyes, she tried hard to get out, but she did not succeed. He died inside due to the freezing cold. According to reports, a woman named Maria de Jesus Arroyo suffered a heart attack at her home in Los Angeles. After this the woman was declared dead. After declaring this grandmother dead, she was kept in the freezer of the mortuary. After some time, the woman regained consciousness and the grandmother tried to get out of the freezer, but she died due to cold.
Now the woman’s family claimed that she was kept in the freezer of the mortuary while she was alive. The doctors considered his body lifeless and put it in a body bag and kept it in the freezer. But she was still alive. According to legal documents, Maria’s body was kept in a refrigerated morgue at the hospital. However, when the funeral home staff arrived to collect the bag several days later, they found the bag half open and the woman lying face down inside. The woman’s face was broken and badly damaged.
The family’s legal action against the hospital claims the 80-year-old woman was put into a mortuary freezer while she was still alive and later died due to freezing temperatures. This horrific mistake was not discovered until the funeral people arrived to collect his body. A pathologist hired by the family later determined that she was conscious when she was placed in the freezer and that her injuries had occurred when she attempted to get out of the body bag after waking up in freezing temperatures. In legal documents, the pathologist said the woman had been frozen alive. When the woman woke up and tried to leave, her face was damaged and she turned her face downwards as she tried unsuccessfully to get out of her frozen grave.
Her family first filed a negligence claim in January 2011. After receiving the report in 2012, he filed an additional lawsuit alleging wrongful death and medical malpractice. The lower court had dismissed the case on the basis of statute of limitations. The case is now reopened in California’s Second District Court of Appeal. The court said that the plaintiff had no reason to doubt that the deceased was alive and not dead when she was kept in the hospital mortuary. The family could not have falsely claimed to be alive in the first place.
